Introducion

My name is Marianella Lyon.  I am 42 years old and I have been living with Rheumatoid Arthritis for 16 years.

My struggle started when I developed RA at the early age of 27.  I was completely unaware of my developing conditions as I moved from Malaga, Spain to Miami, Florida.  My inflammations in my wrists, shoulders, knees, and hips as well as my overall situation only further accelerated as the climate of South Florida was not the best environment due to the dreadful humid periods during the year.

In the first years of my RA, a prescriptive medicine known as Bextra was the only thing that kept from truly feeling the pains and effects of the RA. Unfortunately but yet fortunately the removal of this medication from the market was what hurled me into a long and hard journey of healing both on a physical and spiritual way.  I say fortunately because Bextra was found to be harmful and as a result karma had it that I had to undertake a journey where my healing process would bring me to a threshold where I would no longer depend on any synthetic and compound medications.

I have come to understand this autoimmune disease and its detriments over the course of my struggle but I have also acquired with trial and error a better understanding of how best to live with RA coupled with the humid climate of South Florida over these past 16 years.

Although my autoimmune condition was mine and mine only to bear physically, its’ reaches have equally impacted the daily life of my young family.  I thank the universe, as well as myself today for finding the resolve and having the indomitable spirit in finding a place where I can live a better and balanced life.

With all my heart and soul I only hope you will find as you read through my blog answers that may lead you on a path where you could better your life as well as learn how to regain control of your body.  I believe where the heart and mind goes the body will follow.
